Christmas is always synonymous with the fictional story of Santa Claus. The figure of the old haired old man and the white beard who used to carry a sack of the gift always traveled on a sled pulled by nine deer.

Once there were only eight deer that accompanied Santa Claus to travel. They were Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen.

But later on came another deer whose name became the most famous of the eight deer, Rudolph the red nose.

Rudolph comes from a fictional story written by Robert L. May made in 1939. According to the story, one Christmas Eve when Santa Claus went around the world to deliver gifts, his journey was interrupted by thick fog.

Once he saw from a distance a flashing red light. After being approached it turned out that the red light was Rudolph’s lit nose.

From that moment Santa Claus asked Rudolph to go with him. Rudolph eventually became the leader of eight other deer.
