Juniper berry looks like a buni fruit, only smaller in size and the skin is a bit hard. Widely used in European kitchens, especially Germany. Blackish purple skin color. If pressed, the skin will break, and the seeds will be seen. The taste and aroma are sour and like burnt pine wood.
Juniper berry is widely used as a spice for meat dishes or as an aroma enhancer in olive oil and vinegar.
