DC is known as a comics company that produces world-famous superhero characters. Not only do they dominate the comic market, they also have tremendous influence in the big screen films and have a mainstay superhero character and bring great success to the company.
DC was founded in 1934 under the name National Allied. Since its inception, DC has been in the comics field. Their first product was a comic magazine entitled “More Fun Comics”. The first generation characters created by DC include Green Arrow, Aquaman, Superboy, Specter and Johnny Qouick.
DC has created two more iconic superhero figures to date, namely Superman and Batman. Superman first appeared in the inaugural Action Comics issue, which was released in 1938, and Batman appeared in the 27th issue of Detective Comics, which was released in 1939.
In 1946, National Allied changed its name to National Comics, and only became DC Comics in 1977. DC itself stands for Detective Comics which is the company’s most successful comic.
Seeing the success of Superman and Batman, DC also released new superheroes such as Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Then, they got the idea to unite the superheroes in one comic, because no company had made anything like that before. So, in 1960, they created the Justice League, which combined superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, to early DC superheroes, Green Arrow and Aquaman.
